"I live in Stonehill Rd in Chobham with my 3 young children only a mile or two away from the proposed centre. Your roadside demonstrations were bought to my attention today and I have read with horror the proposed plans for the silverlands site. I'm afraid I dont have that much of my time to offer you by way of assistance but I will in the meantime write the necessary letters and promote your cause among my friends and collegues. Meanwhile, perhaps you could add me to your mail distribution list as I would like to be kept abreast of developments".

"As a mother of two small children 5 and 7 years old respectivly I am deeply concerned about the hostel and its siting in such close proximity to schools and housing in the area. I understand "the not in my back yard " view is unhelpful and unforgiving on the surface but when it pertains to child abuse I find it is a necessary attitude to have. Very few child abusers by their own admission reform, and very few victims also by their own admission get over the trauma. Children do not ask for such abuse to take place, they are victims in the truest sense of the word. Abusers show no mercy, few show remorse ,and all use subtifuge in one way or another to gain family and victims trust. Please add my name to all protest correspondance you have my full support and that of my whole family including grandparents etc.We all support the campaign to stop these people being sited in such an inappropriate location."

I work at the St Peter's site, just a few yards away from Silverlands. From the site entrance on Holloway Hill you can see the Children's ward on the ground floor, it is the first ward area that a paedophile would come across. While we do have security staff on site during the day, we do not have 24hour security. CCTV is being installed at the moment, and access to the childrens ward is restricted. These measures are greater than those in an average house, and I am sure that the Trust does and will do, all in its power to protect the children in its care. However I am concerned that protection from paedophiles at Silverlands would need much stricter security. Unlike schools these children would be there overnight, almost a paedophiles fantasy. If this proposal goes ahead, the Trust will have to find funds for extra security for the childrens ward and Nursery areas. I would like to be kept informed of any events that you may be organising and would be willing to help, to prevent this amazingly poorly informed decision, to locate paedophiles within yards of vunerable children, its nearly as weird as the paedophiles themselves.

"We would like to add our voice to those of many other parents who are shocked and disgusted at these proposals. We live in Chobham and are less than 5 miles from Silverlands. We have a beautiful 4 year old boy, whom we love and protect passionately. The proposals are an outrage, both in how they have been handled and in the choice of location and we fail to understand how this can be justified. We only found out about the proposals because of the banners outside the building and a poster in a parent's car at our son's school - it's scary to think how far these proposals are already without us even knowing about it. It is our duty to protect children of all ages - they have a right to a safe and happy childhood. If these proposals go ahead, we will never be able to let our son out of our sight as he gets older - we live in rural surroundings which should make childhood fun, but with people like this around, just make it dangerous. Please be assured that we will do whatever we can to support the campaign to halt these proposals, and will be at the protests every time. We both work, but are more than happy to distribute leaflets, lobby, protest etc and have written to Mrs Wallis today."
