Selection of comments from local people on 1st November 2001

"Hi there - I have attended all you protests so far and I really would like to help more if I can. I have been a conference co-ordinator in a previous life (i.e. before motherhood took over!) - if there is anything I can do, deliver leaflets in my area, outside the children's schools - Marshfields or Christ Church, or footwork to be done please E mail me"

"I have just read some of the email extracts from local residents - they have
moved me to tears, which is very difficult sitting at work! I think we need to enlist an "emotional Mother" (aren't they all?) as sometimes this could give the knee jerk reaction that is required. I understand that Ms. Wallis is very hard, I assumes she has no children and would be unable to understand the emotions which I am sure every local parent is experiencing. I like the idea about local residents contributing towards the purchase of
Silverlands. It is horrific that these perverted people can be housed in such luxury accommodation. The more I read about them the more scared I become for our children."

"Your doing a brilliant job, keep up the good work. I would come down the road and help, but I have to go to school."

"The route past Silverlands is the only road with a path out of the village which make it the only route suitable for children to walk along on their way to school."
