Paedophile Hostel Still Planned For Chertsey
The government plans to relocate the Wolvercote clinic to the Silverlands site in Chertsey are still very much in place.
We believe that it is totally unacceptable to locate paedophile clinics in our or any residential area.

Major Event – Celebration of Family Life

We want to take thousands of drawings to Tony Blair to highlight the threat hanging over our family lives with the proposed relocation of the Wolvercote clinic from Epsom to Silverlands.  We need your children to start drawing now!  To achieve maximum exposure there will be a mass family candle lit vigil at Foxhills to demonstrate the strength of feeling in the area to the TV, Radio & Press.   BE THERE!

To help stimulate as many drawings as possible a competition will be run with a chance for every child to win a great prize.

Drawings should be freehand on the theme of “celebrating family life” something fun you enjoy doing outdoors.  On the BACK of the artwork, please write your first name only, your age, your school and class.

Prizes will be awarded in the following age categories.

          2 – 4            5 – 7            8 – 11           12 – 16

Silverlands Action Campaign Home Office – Lip Service Dialogue

Rumour has it that the Home Office will spring dialogue meetings at short notice on key community groups – Schools representatives, MP, Councillors, local Health Authority officials and possibly Silverlands Action Campaign representatives.  This is likely to be a “selling the clinic” exercise.

Some Good News

A similar facility was proposed earlier this year in Balham, South London.  As with Silverlands news broke at the 11th hour through the press.  2,500 of the local residents took to the streets and marched through Balham.  The local council immediately sought legal advice.  Plans for the paedophile unit were eventually abandoned.

We need to learn from the Balham experience, get to the campaign events!

Candle Lit Vigils

Every Friday night 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Silverlands. Please support

if you can - even if just for 15 mins.  We need as many people as

possible.  First edition of the newsletter available on the night.

Legal Challenge Has Started

A firm of solicitors have been asked to represent the campaign.  We now need to raise the funds to support the campaign.  Please send your donations to the address below & made payable to Silverlands Action Campaign.

Keep Writing

Please keep writing to Beverley Hughes MP at House of Commons, Westminster, London, SW1A 0AA, copies to Phillip Hammond MP at the same address & Councillor Frances Barden, Copse End, Lyne Lane, Lyne KT16 0AW.     Letters asking specific questions will mean that she has to respond.

We also need you to write to the local paper to keep the issue in the spotlight.  The Surrey Herald, 89 Eastworth Rd, Chertsey, KT16 8DX.
